The entry fee is £10 per adult and £5 per child (under 16), plus a small handling fee. This fee includes a cream tea served at the Aldbury Memorial Hall at the end of the walk.
Registration and start
All distances will start at 9am from the Adbury Memorial Hall, The Green, Aldbury HP23 5RR. Fast walkers and runners will start at 10am from the same location.
Please make your way to the memorial hall before the start to collect your registration card. You will need to present this at each checkpoint and then at the end to collect a finishers certificate and your cream tea.
Event rules and notices
Parking is available in the village but is limited, please car share if possible and part with consideration to others.
If you have to pull out from the event please make sure you tell one of the checkpoints or the race HQ that you have done so.
This event will be run under the LDWA challenge event rules
Entries on the day will be permitted. There is a limit of 250 entrants. Entries are not transferable. Please bring a drink container with you to avoid litter.
Closing date for entries is Saturday 20th June or when the event is full.
There are 3 checkpoints on the long route, 2 on the middle distance route and one on the short route.
Participants must leave checkpoints by the closing time or else they might be retired at a marshal’s discretion. The following are the closing times of the checkpoints;
Checkpoint 1 & 2 (Wigginton village hall) 2pm
Checkpoint 2 (Startops Reservoir) 3pm
Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult at all times
Please ensure you carry adequate food and drink to last the duration of the walk; even if a pub stop is scheduled it is no guarantee that food will be available on the day.
In the event of adverse weather forecasts, please check on this website or our facebook events page to ensure that the walk is to go ahead. Please also check this site before embarking for the venue in case there have been any last minute changes.
First Aid Kits
First Aid kits are present at checkpoints, however participants are strongly advised to carry their own personal first aid kit to meet their immediate requirements until such time as appropriate medical assistance, if required, can be provided.
